- In the behavior of a drug addict from amphetamine, there are traits of suspicion, down to paranoia, inexplicable aggression. In such a state, the patient is simply dangerous for others, and for himself, too.
Treatment of
The treatment of amphetamine dependence proceeds in several stages:
- Detoxification;
- Rehabilitation;
- Post-Inhalation.
At the first stage, lasting about 7-10 days, it is necessary to remove all harmful substances from the body. The introduction of amphetamine and its products shows the introduction of ammonium chloride. When the drug stimulant stops, the addict falls into a depressed state, characterized by sleep disorders, hypertension, irritability, etc. Neuroleptic and tranquilizers are used to eliminate such symptoms. In response to the question of how to treat amphetamine dependence, psychotherapy should also be present.
The rehabilitation period is usually carried out by drug addicts in specialized medical institutions. This stage is characterized by a decrease in drug therapy. The emphasis in treatment is being made to help the therapist. It lasts about 1-6 months. The post-rehabilitative period passes after the patient returns home. It consists in regular visits to specialized postrehabilitational groups that help the former dependent to adapt in the society.
