Proctitis and colitis

Predictably, diseases such as proctitis and colitis affect people who lead a sedentary lifestyle, eat poorly and adhere to promiscuity. However, such diseases can cause many other reasons. So, bloody stagnation in the pelvic region may occur, the outflow of venous blood may be disturbed, or there may be problems with intestinal peristalsis and muscle weakness, both in the anterior wall of the peritoneum and in the pelvic floor.

Proctitis and colitis begin to develop with minor symptoms. So, there is an itching sensation in the anus, the chair does not have a regular characteristic, discomfort starts in the pelvic area and rectal cavity. Pathological processes begin to progress, the painful sensations become stronger when the defecation occurs. In the feces themselves, blood, mucous and purulent discharge appear. In the anus appear tumorous neoplasms.

As you can see, proctitis and colitis have very similar symptoms, and therefore the exact diagnosis can not be made after the collection of patient complaints. For this purpose, examination and ano-rectoscopy are prescribed.

Treatment of proctitis and colitis

The methods for treating proctitis and colitis are somewhat similar, however, if antibiotics are predominantly used in the first case, they are not always necessary for the second type of rectum disease. This is due to the fact that colitis in the lung forms can be cured and simple antibacterial drugs, but proctitis treatment is effective only when taking antibiotics.

When proctitis and colitis is always prescribed compliance with the diet, which limits the consumption of spicy, salted, canned, pickled, fatty and roast-type dishes, as well as confectionery and alcoholic beverages.

In both cases, treatment and cleansing enemas with chamomile or collargolic solution are indicated. For proctitis, sedentary baths and mud can also be prescribed.

To prevent proctitis and colitis it is worthwhile to regularly engage in physical education, to lead a healthy and full-fledged lifestyle, to eat only fresh food, and, of course, to visit at least once a year the proctologist. It is worth remembering that engaging in self-diagnosis and self-medication can lead to a lot of complications.
