Ulcer of the duodenal ulcer most often affects men aged 30 to 50 years. Let's look at the possible causes of duodenal ulcers, because of which the disease occurs at this age.

It used to be that this disease occurs mainly in people who eat improperly against a background of some kind of stress. However, it is known for certain today that the ulcer of the duodenum is caused most often by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, and not by the bad nutrition of the patient. Once in the human body, the bacterium, reproducing, produces protease enzymes and urease, damaging the protective layer of the mucous membrane, which causes a violation of metabolic processes. At the same time, studies have shown that this bacterium is present in the body of 80% of the adult population of Russia, but the number of patients is several times lower.

Hence it can be concluded that in addition to the pathogen, there must be other contributing factors, a combination of which provokes the disease. So, many scientists believe that in addition to the presence of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, an important role in the development of duodenal ulcer is played by psychosomatics. That is, when a person experiences anxiety, is subject to constant stress or is in a prolonged depression. As a result, he develops disorders in the autonomic nervous system, which causes the blood vessels and muscles of the duodenum to spasmodically coagulate. This leads to a violation of trophism of the duodenum, and in the remaining organ without complete nutrition, pathological structural changes begin to occur that make its membrane more sensitive to the action of acid and pepsin.

In addition to psychosomatics, the main causes of the development of the disease are:

  1. hormonal factors;
  2. adrenal disorder;
  3. disrupting the production of sex hormones;
  4. uncontrolled intake of non-steroid drugs;
  5. heredity( the chance of inheritance ranges from 20 to 40%);
  6. alcohol abuse and smoking;
  7. poor nutrition.

It is believed that for the development of duodenal ulcers it is necessary that against the background of the pathogen bacteria there are several more adverse factors listed above.

It should also be noted that to date, until the end it was not possible to establish all the causes that lead to the onset of this disease.
