The lowest worms parasitizing in the human body, amaze with the variety of its appearance and size. Flat, long, round, prickly, spirally twisted, fusiform, resembling a venomous snake, all these forms are worms. Some of them can be seen only in a microscope, they are so small, but others reach a giant size. Large worms occur both in banded and roundworms, but the largest worm in a person that has been found belongs to banded helminths.
For example, the largest worm in the world recognized as a wide tapeworm, referring to the type of tapeworms. Its standard length is 10 meters, but there are individuals reaching a length of 25 meters. In general, large helminths in humans, as in the photo, among the total number that are considered to be the most widespread in the world, constitute a small percentage, but among the known helminths, which most often cause the invasion, they occupy far from last place.
Among roundworms large worms in humans are ascarids, reaching a length of almost half a meter, causing the disease under the name of ascariasis. They are related to a mixed type of luminal and tissue parasites.
What are the names of large worms?
Huge worms, reaching a length of tens of meters( called "bovine tapeworm"), differ in their structure. A flat ribbon-like body consists of several tens of hundreds of segments( proglottids) and a head with four suckers, with which the parasitic worm is attached to the intestinal wall. The growth of the body occurs due to an increase in the number of segments, occurring in the neck, located between the head and the body. The most pronounced symptom of the largest worms depicted here in the photo are the segments that crawled out from the anus.
The following signs of these large helminths are:
- Characteristic for pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract - nausea, heaviness in the abdomen, heartburn.
- Headache, dizziness, weakness, sleep disturbances, dizziness caused by disturbances in the nervous system.
The largest worm naturally requires a very large amount of biological substances to maintain its vital activity and growth, thus taking them away from the adult and, especially, from the child. As a result, there is a shortage of food, leading to serious complications. Especially dangerous is worm infestation for pregnant women, increasing toxicosis and even premature births, miscarriage are possible. In the photo of large worms, the appearance of a wide or fish ribbon worm is shown, and on the psyche of unprepared people such an image has a strong effect, requiring sometimes prolonged recovery treatment.
There are also the biggest worms like algae-like rope worms. The size of worms, depending on the conditions of existence, can range from three to one hundred centimeters. In the photo, large helminths in an adult and a child look like ropes interwoven with each other. A common feature of these worm-like worms is the lack of movement. There are also no visible organs of reproduction, nutrition or circulation. Apparently, these functions are performed by the entire surface of a huge parasite involving intracavitary and intra-canal channels. Some large worms have a head with a mouth and two suckers with a diameter of 3 mm, and an unlimited amount of semi-digested food provides sufficient nutrition. Their surface is tuberous and is not divided into segments.
The surface of worms secrete mucus, which not only helps them stay in the habitat, but also protects against digestion and the effects of proteolytic enzymes. The video shows large worms in phases of their development. The size of large worms allows them to reliably fix in the intestine. In the initial stage of development, large parasites do not particularly bother the "master", but in the course of development they increase in size and lead to serious complications.
Prolonged intoxication by the largest parasites in an adult and especially in a child contributes to the following disorders:
- Blocking intestinal and biliary-excreting tracts, leading to constipation.
- Bloating, flatulence, increased gas production.
- Deterioration of blood circulation, ischemia of various organs and tissues.
- Poisoning of the body with waste products of worms.
Huge worms in a child can provoke the development of diseases of the genitourinary system, the formation of a hernia, congestion and intestinal obstruction, obesity due to increased appetite. Children infected with worms learn poorly, are inhibited or overactive. It is impossible to detect them with known methods, therefore it is very important to carry out preventive measures.
