Hyperplastic antral gastritis is manifested by a thickening of the folds of the mucosa in the final part of the stomach, quite often accompanied by cystic lesions. Such phenomena disrupt the formation of gastric juice and worsen the digestion of food. There are several forms of hyperplasia:
- Menetries disease, which is characterized by the formation of folds of giant sizes;
- granular gastritis;
- polypous form;
- warty shape.
Most often, the disease is detected in smokers and those who drink alcohol, who pay insufficient attention to healthy eating.
Symptoms of hyperplastic antral gastritis
For a long time, antral gastritis with hyperplasia of the mucosa may not show any symptoms, as it is not accompanied by severe inflammation, or resembles various gastrointestinal diseases. With the development of pathology, manifestations become more prominent. The patient may experience:
- feeling of heaviness in the stomach after eating;
- drawing pain in epigastrium;
- eructation and heartburn with an unpleasant aftertaste;
- attacks of vomiting and nausea;
- flatulence and bloating;
- chronic stool disorders;
- the phenomenon of a dysbacteriosis.
Gastric pain in chronic form of hyperplastic gastritis can be permanent and pulling or intermittent. Seizures usually appear after consuming alcohol or foods that irritate the gastric mucosa. At high acidity, the patient often suffers from acid reflux and a belch with a sour aftertaste. With insufficient acid production, the patient feels heaviness in the stomach, regardless of the amount of food consumed.
If the polyp is formed at the very exit of the stomach, it can lead to obstruction of the food. In case of his fall into the intestine, the patient feels a cutting or cramping pain. In this case, it is necessary to urgently undergo a comprehensive examination, since similar signs are inherent in the acute form of appendicitis, cholecystitis, exacerbation of peptic ulcer and some other gastrointestinal diseases.
To diagnose antral gastritis with hyperplasia, fibrogastroscopy and X-ray examination are used.
Treatment of antral gastritis with hyperplasia of the mucous
Hyperplastic antral gastritis may be accompanied by another inflammatory disease, for example, acute or erosive gastritis. In these cases, therapy should be comprehensive. The treatment scheme is chosen depending on the degree of stomach damage and the patient's well-being. In addition, a long time to adhere to a diet.
With high acidity of gastric juice, drugs are prescribed that reduce its production.
For the elimination of pain and heartburn, enveloping agents and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed.
With low acidity, enzymes and agents are used to accelerate the digestive process.
Special importance in the treatment of antral gastritis with hyperplasia is given to dietary nutrition. At the same time, alcohol and carbonated drinks, chocolate, strong broths, coffee and tea, sharp, fatty, salted and smoked foods, preserves, fresh bread and buns are excluded. The food should be sufficient, but gentle and fractional.
Herbal decoctions, slightly boiled tea and water are allowed. The food is cooked in steaming, boiled or baked.
In the treatment of hyperplastic antral gastritis, the use of folk methods is recommended. A good effect is observed when using collections of chamomile, sage and yarrow, decoctions of flaxseed and juice of raw potatoes, honey and aloe.
After the end of the treatment course, it is recommended to adhere to a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition in order to prevent the transition of antral gastritis with hyperplasia of the mucosa to a malignant form.
