Therapeutic exercise with nephroptosis acts as an obligatory element of the course of treatment. Restoring weakened muscles is a guarantee of keeping the kidney in its place.
LFK when the kidney is lowered
A healthy kidney has some mobility: with a deep inspiration, with great effort, the organ can move within a certain amount - the length of one vertebra. If, on inhalation, the kidney moves more than 2 cm, and with rapid breathing - more than 3.5 cm, it is called wandering. Such mobility is redundant and needs compensation.
What is nephroptosis
The kidney is located in one place thanks to the device holding it: fascia, diaphragm, abdominal muscles, loin muscles, abdominal ligaments, own fat and fascial structures of the organ. Each of the structures separately does not ensure the immobility of the kidney, but in combination the ligaments and muscles keep it quite reliably.
The reason for the omission of the kidney may be different:
- low muscle tone - the muscles of the abdominal wall and loins refer to the muscles-stabilizers. Their weakening leads to a whole series of negative transformations in the body;
- reduction of the fatty capsule of the kidney - observed with severe thinness or a noticeable weight loss;
- mechanical displacement due to excessive load - this occurs in the representatives of power sports;
- systemic weakness of connective tissue - accompanies joint hypermobility, visceroptosis and others;
- loosening of the ligamentous apparatus can be caused with congenital anomalies of the skeleton - absence of ribs, incorrect position of the vertebrae;
- multiple births often cause kidney displacement;
- is also susceptible to this disease representatives of some professions: drivers - because of the constant vibration load, hairdressers and sellers - because of a long stay standing.
Than such a dangerous disease? The kidneys serve arteries and veins, the length and cross section of which are calculated for the normal position of the organ. When displaced, the vessels are stretched, which leads to a decrease in the working cross-section, and, therefore, to the problems of blood supply.
Classification of the disease
The ailment is much more common in women - there are only 1-18 male patients per 100 female patients. The reason is obvious - pregnancy and childbirth stretch the abdominal wall, which leads to its weakening. The kidney loses some of its support and is displaced. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of gymnastics in preventing this phenomenon.
Nephroptosis diagnoses in the age group from 30 to 60 years. In children, the disease is extremely rare. Most often affects the right kidney - in 65 cases of the described 91, less often the left kidney - 14. The displacement of both organs is even more rare.
There are several stages of the disease:
- 1 degree - the kidney is displaced by the length of 1.5 vertebrae. When palpating an organ is determined only when inhaled, and when exhaled disappears in the hypochondrium. To diagnose 1 stage is very difficult, because it is asymptomatic. The maximum that a patient can feel is a painful sensation in the lower back and abdomen, which disappear in a horizontal position. Determine the amount of displacement can only be using radiography.
- 2 degree - the lower pole descends to the length of 2 vertebrae, while standing the kidney is below the hypochondrium and can be returned to its place by the movement of the hand. There are severe lumbar pains that go away when the kidney is helped to take the correct position.
- 3 degree - the displacement value exceeds the length of 3 vertebrae. In this case, the kidney in any position - standing, lying, is below the costal arch. Back pains become permanent, do not disappear in a horizontal position. The kidney function is disturbed: colic occurs, blood pressure rises. For stage 3 is characterized by a number of neuralgic pains of a different nature - the femoral nerve, ischial. Patients are usually extremely irritable and quick-tempered.
Treatment with gymnastics
The main element in fixing the kidney in place is the muscles. The fat capsule is also capable of fixing the organ in place, but for the sake of justice such a method is fraught with numerous complications.
Treatment includes the following activities:
- Bandage - is manufactured individually, taking into account the patient's anatomical features. The corset supports the organ in the right anatomical position by squeezing the abdominal muscles and loins. Wearing it is quite convenient, but this is its positive effect and ends.
- Diet - if the kidney has become wandering due to insufficient body weight or weight loss, weight should be added. And for this you need to follow a certain diet. In addition, it should be borne in mind that the displaced kidney is vulnerable, its activity is difficult, and therefore from the diet it is necessary to exclude products that are not beneficial to the body.
- Therapeutic gymnastics - occupies a dominant position. Corset with prolonged wearing contributes to an even weakening of the muscles, so this device is a temporary measure. Only gymnastics can restore the tone of the abdominal muscles and back muscles sufficiently to keep the kidney firmly in place.
The load must be adequate. A person who is not engaged in gymnastics, which, most likely, was the cause of nephroptosis, can not start with a noticeable load. Excessive physical effort when the kidney is not positioned correctly is prohibited. However, a constant gradual increase will give a positive result.
The above measures are taken with nephroptosis of 1 and 2 degrees, as well as when the right or left kidney is lowered. At 3 degrees conservative treatment is often already powerless.

Preventive exercises
Nephroptosis is much easier to prevent than treat, especially since no special efforts are needed. Moreover, the muscles holding the kidney in place are the main stabilizers, that is, they work for any exercises that are performed standing, sitting, from a position on all fours and in most exercises in a lying position.
In fact, there are no exercises in which the abdominal muscles did not participate in any way. So, if a person is engaged in physical education or any sport, he does not face nephroptosis. The exception is the power sports, where just an excessive load can displace the kidney.
Morning gymnastics
Classic morning exercises consist of 3 essential elements: exercises for the buttocks and hips, for the abdomen and for the upper shoulder girdle. They should be performed in this order: the goal of morning exercises is to "wake up" the body, that is, to increase blood circulation and improve metabolism. And for this you must first get to work the largest muscles of the body - gluteal.
In this type of exercises, the muscles of the lower back work minimally, but there is a load on the abdominal muscles. This category includes any kind of sit-ups - at least 10-20 repetitions, and several series - from 3 to 10. If the physical condition of the patient allows, then the morning exercises should begin with squats.
The second part is the exercises for the press. The simplest "corner" is performed by kicking one or two at a time. Quantity - at least 10, but depends on the degree of preparedness.
The third element is any form of push-up. In this way, the muscles of the back and muscles of the abdomen are strained in an excellent manner. It is performed as far as possible: you can push it off from the floor in the "strap" position and from the knees, you can push it off from the chair in the "bar" position, even when doing push-ups from the wall it will be useful. Unfortunately, most patients are not available, although it is very effective.
The standard complex, which is recommended as a morning exercise, includes the following exercises:
- "bike" - lying on the back, legs bend and stretched alternately, simulating the ride. Repeat recommended up to 2 minutes;
- leg bending - legs alternately bend at the knees, and pull up to the chest. Repeat with each foot at least 8 times;
- "corner" - both legs lift up. At least to the angle of 90 degrees and on exhalation to lower. The exercise is slow and smooth. When the load is insufficient, the pelvis is raised in the extreme position. Another option is to raise your legs at a right angle, dilute to the sides in exhalation, to close in on inspiration and on exhalation to lower. At least 6 repetitions;
- semi-lock - bend the legs in the knees and rest their feet on the floor. Then gradually raise the pelvis on exhalation and lower it by inhalation. If such a load is too large, in the same position between the knees, the ball is clamped, the rolled up towel and squeezed by his knees - a delay of up to 8 seconds. Repeat should be 8-10 times;
- "cat" - stand on all fours arch their back up and down on exhalation. Inhalation occurs between movements automatically. Repeat from 15 times. This exercise, not only the kidneys, but also the vertebrae returns to the place, moreover it promotes saline resorption.
Morning physiotherapy exercises with a kidney down takes about 15 minutes. If this is the only occupation of physical education, then its duration should reach at least 25 minutes. If the gymnastics is given less time, the effect will not be achieved.
With 1 degree of nephroptosis, exercises on the back are actually performed from the position of lying on the floor. At 2 and 3 stages, it is recommended to use an inclined plane: with the 2nd degree of nephroptosis, the angle of inclination is 15 degrees, at 3-30 degrees.
The basic complex of exercises
In practice, the amount and complexity of the exercises depends on the patient's initial condition. Typical complex will not bring any benefit to a person at least some developed physically. It is necessary to consider not so much the recommendations on exercises, how many restrictions: you can not run, jump and lift weights. Under the ban is the raising from the floor or the use of a simulator that simulates the lifting of gravity from an inclined position. The rest of the exercises remain available.
But since nephroptosis most often happens due to muscle atrophy, most patients with this diagnosis should start with the simplest exercises:
- The gym should be performed at least 25 minutes once a day. If possible, it is worth doing 2 a day - in this case, the morning complex can be short.
- The exercise can be performed in turn or in series. If the complex takes too little time, you need to increase the number of repetitions.
- Exercises should tire muscles. When this does not happen, the muscle does not work in sufficient condition and does not strengthen, and, hence, gymnastics does not bring any benefit.
The number of exercises in the complex can vary from 5 required to 20.
Almost all exercises are performed from the prone position, so that there is no stress on the joints.
LFK for nephroptosis is the safest kind of gymnastics:
- Diaphragmatic breathing - when inhaling, the stomach is protruded, with exhalation it is pulled in with force. Repeat 4-8 times.
- The arms bent in elbows with a force unbend behind the head on inhalation. On exhalation, hands are dropped through the sides and pressed to the ribs - 8-10 times.
- At the inhalation, the leg bent at the knee is pressed to the chest, on the exhalation - the stomach is drawn in with force. Then the leg is lowered, with an effort straightening the knee. Repeat with each foot 5-10 times.
- The knees bent at the knees rest on the floor with their feet, gently raise the pelvis on the exhalation, hold for 4 seconds, on inhalation - lower it. Repeat 4-8 times.
- Do the same with one straight leg, raised by 90 degrees. Repeat 4-8 times. Immediately can not work out.
- From the prone position, when inhaling, raise a straight leg, withdraw to the side, raise and return to the initial position on exhalation.5-10 repeat with each foot.
- The knees bent at the knees are lowered to the right and left, twisting. Hands for balance to take sides.5-10 times in each direction.
- The arms bent in the elbows are straightened in turn. Movement is the more effective the more effort is applied when extending. Repeat 4-8 times.
- "Bicycle" - 6-10 circles with each foot.
- "Corner" - 4-8 times.
If the complex is performed as a morning exercise, these 10 exercises are enough. End the occupation with diaphragmatic breathing.
On video, diaphragmatic breathing:
The second lesson should include the listed exercises and new ones. Add them as the form is restored.
- Lying on the right side raise a straight leg and hold for 3-4 seconds. Repeat 6-8 times.
- The leg is bent at the knee and pressed hard against the chest - up to 10 times.
- Diaphragmatic breathing - at least 5 times.
All exercises should be repeated from the lying position on the left side.
- Lying on the stomach, alternately raise your legs and hold for 3-4 seconds. Repeat up to 10 times. Very effective exercise for the muscles of the waist and buttocks.
- Drawing on forearms and palms from a lying position, they rise to a position on all fours. Delayed for 5-6 seconds and lowered to the starting position.5 times.
- Standing in the knee-elbow position, take turns straight-legged - 4-8 times.
- In the same position, the straight arms are raised in turn. Later this exercise will need to be combined.
- Lying on the back, raise the pelvis, as described, but at the end of the movement press the knees bent at the knees to the chest. Repeat 4-8 times.
Complete the complex with diaphragmatic breathing. Breathe out with your mouth open and accompany the exhalation with the sound of "ha-ah."No matter how simple this technique is, it also takes time to master it.
The main set of exercises for omission of the kidney:
General recommendations of
One of the main requirements for successful treatment of nephroptosis is maintaining proper posture. The latter is precisely maintained by the work of muscle stabilizers. A hunched back, an inclined neck, a rounded lower back are indispensable participants in the development of the disease.
In practice, all exercise therapy is reduced to teaching the weakened patient to maintain a correct posture and to strengthen the muscles for this. What else should be observed?
- The bandage is not a panacea. Moreover, his wearing results in an even weakening of the muscles. So it is necessary to wear a corset only as a last resort, when there is some kind of physical load or when it is necessary to protect the kidneys from mechanical factors. For example, riding on a bus is accompanied by strong jerks and jerks. Here, the bandage does not interfere, and then only in stages 2 and 3.
- Gymnastics must be performed every day, even better - 2 per day. And the second complex should be longer.
- To strengthen the muscles, they need to be loaded, so fatigue and pain in the muscles is a must. But if the pain in the muscles is a positive factor, then the pain in the kidneys - no. When doing the exercise, you should carefully monitor what exactly and where it hurts. In addition, if there are other ailments, then during the exercises their influence must also be taken into account.
- Exercises in the knee-elbow position can cause dizziness. It is important to establish its cause. If this is associated with an increase in pressure, triggered by nephroptosis, the cat will have to be postponed. If this is a consequence of cervical or thoracic osteochondrosis - continue to be necessary, but slowly and with an exhalation "ha-ah."The technique of exhalation must be mastered without fail, since it relieves pressure.
- The load must constantly grow. If, after 2 months, exercise therapy seems too simple, you need to include more complex exercises, and even with weights - anklets, for example. Gradually, regular strength exercises are introduced into the gym for healthy people.
LFK is an absolutely essential element in the treatment of nephroptosis, even 3 degrees of severity. The therapeutic gymnastics does not provide a sufficient effect only in the event that, due to the omission, the kidney was hit by a serious ailment - hydronephrosis, pyelonephrosis.
