Types of complications of pancreatic cysts are huge. The most common, experts call it a break. This, in turn, leads to other, more serious consequences.
At least, there is also a complication of the pancreas cyst, like its suppuration, the appearance of fistulas, the formation of bleeding. As a result of such processes, severe iron deficiency anemia may occur. And in this situation, hemorrhage directly into the tumor itself is possible.
Also, as a result of the complication of this formation in the pancreas, cholestasis and mechanical subhepatic jaundice are often diagnosed with all its symptoms. This complication occurs as a result of compression by the formation of the bile duct.
If the cyst is large enough in size, it can exert serious pressure on the duodenum. This, in turn, will lead to the fact that the patency on its ducts of the contents, which enters the stomach, is violated.
Significantly less often, however, medical complications such as spleen damage and its rupture, the emergence of bleeding from the splenic artery, the breakthrough of formation directly into the esophagus still occur in medical practice.
Pancreatic rupture of the pancreas
A ruptured pancreatic cyst takes a leading place in the rating of complications caused by this formation. Its consequences are also quite diverse. Often, the gap occurs directly in the organ. In some cases, this leads to serious consequences. For example, bleeding, suppuration, exacerbation of pancreatitis.
At the same time, in medical practice cases are known where the rupture of the pancreas cyst, on the contrary, significantly changes the patient's health in a positive way. But, this process must necessarily take place in a hollow organ. In this case, the patient ceases to feel pain, or they are significantly blunted and carried much easier. This is especially strong if it was large and squeezed adjacent organs, as well as functioning pancreatic tissue.
If the cyst rupture occurs directly into the free abdominal cavity, peritonitis will occur. And this, in turn, is fraught with a lethal outcome, if appropriate medical measures are not taken in time.
