Non-atrophic gastritis is the initial stage of atrophic inflammation of the gastric mucosa and refers to chronic diseases. Presented disease has several types and here are the main ones:
- Chronic focal;
- Chronic acute.
Chronic non-atrophic gastritis has mild clinical symptoms and causes minor damage to the gastric mucosa. The mucous membrane with such a disease will have a brilliant appearance, puffiness, and in some cases a slight plaque. Symptomatology of the presented disease:
- a long digestive process;
- metabolic disorders;
- discomfort arising in the upper abdomen.
In most cases, chronic non-atrophic gastritis does not have pronounced symptoms, but if you have any, you should consult a gastroenterologist for advice as soon as possible. Otherwise, the disease can go to the next stage, which means that its treatment will be much more difficult than usual.
Focal non-atrophic gastritis is a manifestation of an acute form of the disease, which is characterized by the appearance of inflamed areas on the mucous membranes of the stomach. Neatrophic focal gastritis differs from other forms of the disease with symptomatology. A vivid example of its signs is the numbness of the limbs, deterioration of the hair condition and their loss, fragility and detachment of the nails.
How is chronic non-atrophic gastritis treated?
Treatment of the presented disease, quite often consists in the use of antibiotics and medications, which help to reduce the level of acidity in the stomach. Also it is worth paying attention to the fact that taking any medications, much less antibiotics, should be done only after consulting a gastroenterologist.
Drugs that are most often prescribed by doctors in the treatment of chronic non-atrophic gastritis can be divided into the following groups:
- Medicaments that can envelop the surface of the stomach. Thanks to such preparations, the mucous membrane of the stomach is protected from various lesions that can result from eating.
- Drugs that promote the production of juice in the stomach.
- Medications that can cause an increase in gastric motility.
- Preparations providing protection of cells of the gastric mucosa. That is, medicines that can increase the production of mucus in the stomach.
Depending on how the chronic non-atrophic gastritis proceeds, the gastroenterologist prescribes a comprehensive treatment with antibiotics. In most cases, treatment lasts for two weeks, and after that the patient must undergo a gastroscopy checkup.
