As part of the fight against parasites, various activities are carried out, which are part of a comprehensive preventive program. Usually, infection occurs after contact with the soil, in which there are large numbers of eggs or larvae of a variety of helminths. As practice shows, it is unwashed hands, vegetables and fruits that often cause the most dangerous invasions. Flies can be carried by worms, and parasite infestation can occur when swimming in water bodies, in case of swallowing water.
Are there eggs of helminths in drinking water? In the one that is fed to houses through pipes, there should be no worms. And all because its delivery occurs under strict control of sanitary and epidemiological surveillance. Therefore, you can drink it without fear, but before using, it is still worthwhile to boil. But in ordinary non-current and flowing reservoirs, there may be ascaris eggs, and larvae of withered-headed, pork and bovine tapeworms. Often in such tanks were larvae of a wide ribbon and fluke. They get there together with the technical drains. Often parasites appear after the descent of sewage drains or sewage from cesspools.
Helminths in standing and running water
There are several techniques that help to detect the presence of worms in large water. One of them is used for the analysis of liquids in tanks with non-flowing water. It consists in the use of a plankton filter, which is installed in a Goldman funnel and connected to a vacuum pump. After pumping the liquid, a precipitate is removed from the filter, then it is applied to the glass by smears and studied under a microscope.
The study of water for the presence of worms in flowing reservoirs is done using a cloth filter. It is inserted into a plankton grid, similar to a large cone. A metal tube is attached to the narrowest end of the cone. A similar device is attached to the rope, a rope to the boat. Sampling is performed with a change in rope length. So it is possible to capture and test different layers of the lake or pond. The content of the filter is usually examined under a microscope in wet form. Such methods allow to identify all types of helminths. When worms are detected, the cause of infection is identified, and cleaning is also performed.
Helminth eggs in wastewater
If secondary plums are used for irrigation of the land, they must undergo purification. For these purposes, processes that allow the destruction of helminth eggs can be used. As a rule, sedimentation or filtration of waste after its stabilization in bog ecosystems shows the greatest efficiency. The shell of helminth eggs is very strong. In order to destroy it and kill the worms in the bud, it is necessary to create certain conditions. Chlorination of liquids, treatment with UV light or ozone, as practice shows, are ineffective. The best way to kill worms in drinking water is to heat it to a temperature above +40 degrees Celsius, and keep this level for a long period of time. Of course, it is quite problematic to formulate similar conditions for drainage inactivation, for this purpose it is necessary to build special purification systems. But effort and material waste fully pay off with the calmness and health of people. At the household level, the normal boiling of the liquid helps to eliminate worms.
It is important to remember that worms in drinking water can appear on condition of non-observance of sanitary norms by companies providing uninterrupted supply of liquid carrier. In waste drains, helminth eggs can be present, they can also be in toilet water if technical resources are used for sewerage needs.
