1 Classifier of eye ailments

Ophthalmic diseases and adnexa diseases belong to class 7. Each pathology has its own code.

The stigma is inherent in ciphers ranging from H49 to H52, and they are called "Diseases of the muscles of the eye, violations of friendly eye movement, accommodation and refraction."

It is necessary to consider in more detail the types of violations and the corresponding numerical designations in the classifier.

2 Types of pathology according to the international qualification of the disease

H49 refers to the designation of paralytic strabismus. Each type of it also has its codes and is in the range from 49 to 49.9.This disease is associated with the deviation of the eye from the general fixation at one point. This occurs as a result of defeat, paralysis or paresis of the oculomotor muscle. The qualification list includes the following diseases:

  • paralytic condition 3( 49), 4 nerves( 49.1), 6 abducens( 49.2);
  • instagram viewer
  • ophthalmoplegia complete( 49.3);
  • progressive ophthalmoplegia( 49.4);
  • other types( 49.8);
  • , unspecified type of paralysis of the optic nerve( 49.9).

H50 refers to the remaining types of strabismus: the

  • convergent convergent( 50) occurs against a background of binocular vision disorder, has an inherent or acquired nature;
  • divergent, joint( 50.1) often develops in utero and has differences in visual acuity of each eye;
  • vertical( H50.2) is characterized by the deviations of the eyes either upward or downward when looking to the side;
  • with intermittent heterotrophy( H50.3), the nonparallel arrangement of the cornea is clearly expressed;
  • , unspecified heterotrophic forms have code H50.4;
  • heterophoria( H50.5), in which the direction of view is not consistent with the eyes;
  • form of mechanical strabismus has the code H50.6;
  • H50.8 - other types of disease.

Lesion of joint eye movement( H51):

  • with paralysis of sight( 51) neurological impairment of movement of both eyes in one direction( can develop horizontally or vertically);
  • convergence disorder( 51.1) is associated with a neuromuscular anomaly that is characterized by eye convergence;
  • H51.2 refers to intranuclear ophthalmoplegia;
  • for other known disorders of joint eye movement assigned code 51.8;
  • Unidentified diagnoses of joint eye movement loss - 51.9;

Refraction and accommodation loss - from 52 to 52.7:

  • hypermetropia( H52), or farsightedness, is a type of visual impairment in which images of objects far away are focused behind the retina of the eye;
  • myopia( H52.1), or nearsightedness, is considered a refractive error, images are focused from the front.
  • astigmatism( H52.2) - this is an abnormal violation of the shape of the lens, the cornea, as a result, the human eyes perceive images in a muddy form;
  • aniseukeynia( H52.3) - abnormal development of the eye, in which the perception of the size of objects has a significant difference in individual meridians;
  • presbyopia( point 4) is a refractive error in which it is impossible to see clearly small letters or objects under close examination;
  • disorders associated with eye accommodation( paragraph 5);
  • points 6 and 7 are assigned to the remaining lesions of refraction and unspecified defects respectively.

The task of the International Classification of Diseases is the systematization, analysis of diseases in different states.
