Drinks are an integral part of dietary nutrition. Some nutritionists recommend a minimum of 2 liters of liquid per day in addition to food. But not all drinks are resolved with duodenal ulcer. Regardless of the stage of the disease, it is strictly forbidden to drink carbonated water, sweet piece drinks, kvass, strong tea and coffee. They affect the mucous membrane, which is a prerequisite for the onset of inflammatory processes and exacerbation of the disease.
Consumption of kvass and sour juices( even natural) will certainly lead to a sharp increase in the level of acid, which can also cause severe pain and inflammation.
Despite the usefulness of natural juices, , you need to drink them selectively. Gastroenterologists do not recommend using such juices with duodenal ulcer:
- Orange. It contains a lot of vitamin C, which is simply necessary for the body, but it is forbidden to drink it with duodenal ulcer. It provokes a violation of the balance of acidity. Do not drink juices squeezed from other citrus fruits( tangerines, pomegranates, kiwi, pineapples, grapefruit).
- Juices from peaches and apricots are contraindicated. They contribute to irritation of the mucous membrane of the duodenum.
- Berry juice from grapes, cherries, cherries is also not recommended for ulcerative pathological formations.
Drinks made of fruit, which do not contain acids or other substances that irritate the mucosa, are considered useful. To such juices it is necessary to carry a kalinovy (it is appointed not only as a quenching of thirst, but also as a therapeutic anti-inflammatory agent), pumpkin( in unlimited quantity), carrot and blackcurrant( no more than 100 ml / day), potato50 ml each 30 minutes before meals).
In addition to juices, jelly is recommended. With ulcer of the duodenum, it is useful in that it has a good enveloping effect, depresses the influence of negative factors, promotes the regenerative processes of the mucous membrane. Drink the jelly before eating.
Gastroenterologists recommend using milk jelly, which is prepared on the basis of low-fat milk. It has a good protective effect and prevents damage to the mucous membrane by inflammatory processes. Fruit and berry kissels will also be useful. Raspberries, blueberries, sweet apples, cloudberries, and dogrose are best for their preparation. Such drinks are cooked on the basis of starch. Also, cereal jelly( oats and wheat) are good and useful for peptic ulcer disease. They are recommended for any phase of the disease, even during a period of exacerbation.
Many patients are interested in the question - can I drink tea and coffee with duodenal ulcer? As for coffee , it is able to increase the secretion of gastric juice, and this is highly undesirable. During periods of exacerbation, it can not be drunk in any form. In the stage of remission, it is allowed to drink a cup of weak coffee once a day with the addition of milk. Of course, it is best to abandon it altogether.
Tea with duodenal ulcer is allowed, but not strong. It is recommended to use it with milk.
