In pancreatitis, accompanied by signs of stagnation of venous blood in the human abdominal cavity, treatment with hirudotherapy is often effective.

Leeches have a therapeutic effect on the gland, sucking to the body and absorbing blood. They, together with saliva, introduce the secret of hirudin into the human body, which is unique to them, which is far superior to medical heparin, being a natural inhibitor of thrombin. The natural inhibitor of thrombin surpasses all artificial analogues created at the moment, and, getting into the body, blocks or slows down the process of clotting fibrinogen.

To obtain the maximum result from hirudotherapy with pancreatitis, leeches are installed according to the following scheme in four zones:

  • Slightly below / above the end of the coccyx( points 18/17), and also to the left and right of the projection of the sacrum( 20/19);
  • In the right upper quadrant of the projection of the liver( points 5-9);
  • In the lumbosacral zone, for the treatment of leeches of pancreatitis, points are used at the level of the last two thoracic vertebrae( 12/11), as well as points located to the left and right of them by two fingers( 13-16);

  • In the antero-abdominal area of a person performing hirudotherapy, points 2/1 and 4/3 are of interest in the case of the main pains that give to the left half of the anteroarthrosis.

Treatment of pancreatitis with leeches for certain points has its own specifics. For example, zones 2 and 1 will correctly alternate between themselves. The key feature of working in these zones is to find the most boring point, further influence on this place will give the greatest result. Points 4 and 3 are used for venous plethora of the peritoneum.

On average, during one hirudotherapy procedure, leeches are attached a maximum of 5 times. At the stage of exacerbation of pancreatitis, the procedure is carried out once every two days, then less often - 2/7 days. The implementation of procedures by this method allow to achieve:

  • Antisclerotic action on the pancreas;
  • Analgesic action;
  • Anti-inflammatory action;
  • The permeability of the vascular walls is restored;
  • There is a draining effect;
  • Antidotal effect;
  • Microcirculation of the organ is restored;
  • The enzymes of the gland are inhibited.

Hirudotherapy, as an isolated method, in pancreatic disorders is not used, but only in conjunction with other methods, enhancing their effect. So, with drug treatment, hirudotherapy potentiates the dose of prescribed medications.
