Dysbacteriosis is a fairly common disorder of the intestinal microflora. It can arise due to a variety of reasons, however, mainly the development of dysbacteriosis begins as a result of drug treatment of other diseases. To date, drugs are used to treat bacterial infection, but in addition to destroying pathogenic bacteria, their effect also affects beneficial microorganisms.
Infringement of an intestinal microflora occurs in recent years more often, since almost all diseases are treated with the use of antibacterial drugs.
The causes of drug dysbiosis may be inappropriate use and use of low-quality drugs, improper dosage, violation of the regimen. Also, the appearance of a violation of the intestinal microflora may be affected by prolongation of the course of administration without special need, or self-administration of antibacterial drugs. It is worth noting that different groups of medicines may have different effects on the intestinal microflora.
In some cases, there may be an imbalance in the intestinal microflora, even if the products were individually selected with the correct dosage. In any case, the restoration of the normal state of microflora can take at least a month.
Symptoms of drug dysbiosis
Medication dysbiosis will predominantly develop in the intestinal cavity or genital organs. Such a violation will be accompanied by diarrhea or constipation, in some cases, they may alternate. In addition, there is swelling and itching in the anus.
If the drug dysbiosis affects the genitals, there may be discharge with a changed color, odor and consistency, sensation of itching of the external genitalia, burning in the urethra area, frequent urination. Also, the symptom of disturbance of the microflora is pain syndromes in the lower abdomen.
If there was a symptomatology of a medicinal dysbacteriosis after treatment by medicinal preparations it is necessary to pass consultation with the expert.
Treatment of drug dysbiosis
The disease will mainly be treated with medicines containing beneficial bacteria. So for this purpose, probiotics and prebiotics are used.
Prebiotics when ingested with food will not be digested in the intestinal cavity, however, they act as an excellent medium for feeding beneficial microorganisms. Such substances can be found in onions, garlic heads, dairy products. Also in pharmaceutical sales there are specialized medicines, which include prebiotics.
Probiotics are agents that contain live bacteria that do not colonize the intestines, but inhibit the development of pathogenic bacteria and restore natural balance. However, in the case of severe drug dysbacteriosis, such drugs are of low efficacy and therefore antimicrobial agents can be used.
In addition, in the treatment of medicinal dysbacteriosis intestinal antiseptics are used, which suppress the development of pathogens, while they do not affect bacteria important for the intestine.
