This drug, like Motilium, used in the treatment of gastritis to relieve a patient of certain symptoms of the disease, is available in 3 forms - tableted, which is designed for resorption, conventional coated tablets and suspension( syrup).
The main recommendation when using Motilium for the treatment of gastritis is that the taking of this remedy, regardless of the form of release, should be done only before meals. Otherwise, the absorption of domperidone can be markedly slowed down.
If the tablets intended for resorption are prescribed, they should not be washed with water, since they dissolve on the tongue on their own within a few seconds.
Special instructions for the use of Motilium for gastritis:
- If antisecretory or antacid preparations are prescribed together with Motilium, they should be taken after a meal so that these medicines do not overlap;
- Tablets should not be taken to patients with lactose intolerance, since they contain this substance;
- In liver failure, this drug is administered with caution because it has a high degree of metabolism of domperidone in the liver;
- When a long-term therapy with this drug is carried out, the patient should be under constant medical supervision.
